Sandinista! is getting righteous, Fairtrade, organic and generally squirrel loving in 2007-8! This is the 6th New Year that we have seen at Sandinista! and instead of all the "I’m going to stop drinking", or "I’m going to go to the gym" rubbish that gets said then forgotten once you hear the call of the Jagermeister bottle, Sandinista! is going to try to make a bit of a difference, and you can help too!
We’ve decided to combine our love of great products with ‘doing our bit’ for the world by stocking Fairtrade Cuban Orange Juice, and Chegworth Valley’s Organic Pressed Cox's Apple Juice. We also stock the Pressed Pear Juice, but it’s not available organically yet, it just tastes scrumptious! If you fancy something hot, then rest assured we’ve not forgotten that either. We serve Fairtrade tea and sugar alongside authentic Nicaraguan coffee beans and Green and Blacks Organic Hot Chocolate.
As you may already know, we’ve been boycotting Coca Cola since 2004 because of its insidious corporate dealings and this year begins our new campaign. From the end of 2007 we began our boycott of any Bacardi owned products due to their immoral corporate dealings with the likes of Havana Club and their appalling treatment of people in the third world. We also refuse to sell any products from a country that refuses to ban whaling (Japan, Norway & Iceland) ... grrrr, bad, bad people...
Sandinista! is always looking at ways in which we can improve our business in a green way: we already recycle, and will be carrying out an eco-footprint to see how our emissions and general business affects the environment around us.
